Tampa Bay CCD serves two FDOT districts, District 1 and District 7. With a land area of nearly 15,330 square miles and 17 counties in Southwestern Florida and the Tampa Bay area, both districts represent numerous employment opportunities, now and in the future. Its 5.5 million residents contribute to the 75.6 million miles traveled daily on its highways. FDOT provides capital, operating assistance and grant funds to 63 public airports, including five international airports, and the districts have three deep-water seaports and five railroad companies in operation.
